checking in from the land of sicky whiners

population: 2

(recently reduced by 1. Rainbow is still moderately sicky, but he’s mostly quite jolly. And the Commodore is taking it all quite well, actually. But one of us, who happened to be up all night in a state of feverish/hot wool throat/headachy/bodyachy misery, really just wants to take a bath and have cool herbal compresses applied to my her forehead and cool strawberries popped in my her mouth.)

Rainbow had his first real boo-boo this morning, which was just awful. He was standing up at his bouncy zebra and somehow slipped and fell down in just the right way to bust his lower lip on a tooth.

It’s all swollen now, with a little bruise and a little rag of torn skin hanging off it. Poor, poor baby.

And yet, he’s still mostly just so deliciously sweet and funny that it’s not all that horrible taking care of him, even though I feel like someone walloped the back of my head with a bat when I wasn’t paying attention. Also, he’s napping well, so that’s good. And he ate a good lunch, so I’m hoping he’s over the hump with his bout of sick.

Speaking of napping: I’m done with my sandwich and the bebe is asleep, so I’m headed to bed. Thirty million things are clamoring for attention, including (but not limited to) Christmas decorations and work on the Habitat ball, but first – sleep.

    Get feeling better, Mama Jamz.

    Ugh. Sickness is NOT fun.

    Good prioritizing on the sleep.

Thanks, Meghan. The nap didn’t work out, but I’m pretty sure the stars are aligning tonight. Mmmmm, it will feel so good to conk out.
