winding down

So, yeah. It’s been a busy time, and I haven’t been writing much. I started thinking about wrapping up the blog in a neat farewell package on Rainbow’s birthday, and then sort of let the day slide on by, and thought I’d just try to keep it up. But it’s hard: I’ve been working from home during every Rainbow naptime and have been having Grandma L keep him one day and night a week to get some more done, and I just haven’t had time to write thoughtful blog entries, what with the mama-ing and the homemaking. Priorities, priorities.

So, hm.

Maybe this is it.

For now, anyway.

I’m pretty sad thinking about drawing this to a close. It’s been really wonderful sharing our lives with you all, and the support and friendship I’ve received have been amazing. I just don’t have enough minutes in the day to make regular entries. I think I will just post every now and then from here on out. If you know me and would like to friend me on Facebook, let me know and I’ll email you. I post pics and videos fairly often on FB.

Sad.

Sigh.

How about something really sweet to lighten the mood?

How about a Rainbow playing Peekaboo?

And how about some pics of our day? Rainbow LOOOOVES his new pool and toddler play fort. He’s such a pure pleasure to be around.

That little bench, by the way, was one that I bought several years ago, after Ward’s accident and before we knew we would have another child. I just liked it and wanted to have it, even though we might not have another little one to sit on it. I wanted to let little cousins have a special outside seat. And I thought that it was something Ward would like, too.

And.

I’m rambling. It’s about bedtime, and here I am making a prolonged goodbye. Except it’s not really: I’ll make posts here and there, just not so regularly. I’ll miss you and your thoughtful comments, even if it’s just That baby is so stinkin’ cute. It’s nice.

So, comment and I’ll get notified of it and read it, whenever it happens.

And know that you’ve helped a lot during this journey.

Thank you.

    Sniff, sniff.

I understand what you mean about not having time enough in the day to make writing a priority.

I will look forward to any future snippets of posts…until then, go enjoy that house of boys of yours!

Nooooooo, don’t leave! I like your blog better than my own! lol

I will miss your regular posts, but I’ll take the irregular ones as well. And you may find yourself updating more often than you think, just to write and sort things out. If not, that’s fine. Thank you for including us in your journey. It’s been wonderful to be part of it. You and your family are incredible people and I’m blessed to know you. Take care.

Your blog is inspirational and so transparent. The love you have for all your “boys” is so sweet- You are so feminine and beautiful in person and in your writing. I trust you will write a book one day. Your writing is so entrancing. Obviously, you are gifted and it has been fun to “peek” in to your life through your blog. Thanks for sharing your heart. Best wishes as you begin a new journey with your oldest next fall. He will do well. He is delightful, bright and wonderfully polite to adults. (he rode with me last field trip) I look forward to “peeking” in on your journey whenever you share.
Best wishes and I would love to bring lunch to you someday-
    Beverly

I like Mary’s description of little postcards. I’ve enjoyed reading your thoughtful journey through sadness, happiness and points in between. And you know how I feel about your writing. I will be watching for the Rainbows. 😉
